Snowbirds with the sniffles? Not to worry, SkyDoc is here.

Guests of 200 South Florida hotels will now have access to a Skype-like medical service called SkyDoc thanks to a partnership with the Greater Miami Hotel and Beaches Association.

The technology was brought to market by a local doctor named Ramsey Saffouri and is the latest trend in what is called tele-medicine.

Anybody with traveler’s insurance will be reimbursed 100% for all costs incurred, says the SkyDoc page on Saffouri’s website for his company AmPmDoc.com. And all you will need to access the service is a smart-device.

All data is said to be secured through HIPAA compliant (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) encryption “at every level.” And video conferencing will work in concert with a variety of release forms to be signed by the patient at the beginning of their service.

The SkyDoc call center is said to be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Now that’s what you call hospitality. Actually, the term is “Hospitality Medicine,” and it’s trademarked by SkyDoc.

And here is a picture of Dr Saffouri practicing martial arts, so don’t mess with him. He can probably kick your butt faster than he can help you fix it.
